Hi All!

Below is your weekly dose of a list of things I’m reading, watching, listening to, or thinking about from my No. 210 Dec 29, 2023 newsletter. If this message was forwarded to you, sign up for this newsletter using this link.

Book I Read

Courage Is Calling: Fortune Favors the Brave by Ryan Holiday is another book I recently added to my list of philosophy books I love. This book explores courage through stories about historical figures like Marcus Aurelius, Charles De Gaulle, Florence Nightingale, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Frederick Douglass. What’s interesting about these stories is that by studying history you realize how much the past resembles the present.

Video I Watched

Washington’s Dream – SNL is the video we all need. I laughed the entire skit.

New Podcast I Listened To

Tom Segura on Honing the Craft of Comedy is a discussion between Segura (a comedian) and Daily Stoic podcast host Ryan Holiday (a writer). This podcast covers a ton of topics, particularly about parenting and becoming the best at your craft. I appreciate how both of these guys acknowledge the challenges associated with trying to be the best while at the same time being a great dad.

Blog Post I Wrote

What is Capacity Factor? A Beginner’s Guide is a look at an important part of the puzzle for renewable energy project developers and asset owners. Capacity factor is the ratio of the actual electricity output divided by the theoretical electricity output of a power plant. The greater the capacity factor the more electricity that’s produced.

Quote I’m Re-Reading

“I think a life properly lived is just learn, learn, learn all the time.” — Charlie Munger
