New Series I’m Watching

The guy who cuts my hair recommended Hip-Hop Evolution, a docu-series telling the story of the history of hip-hop. Starting in the 1970s, hip-hop exploded in growth in the decades since. Nearly every major region of the US has its own flavor of this music genre. My favorite episodes include S4 E1 · Bounce to This, S4 E2 · The Southern Lab, and S4 E3 · The Super Producers.

New Podcast I Listened To

NPM Interconnections – Episode 76: Michael Rucker | Scout Clean Energy is an interview with the founder of Scout Clean Energy, Michael Rucker. He started his career with stints at the Edison Electric Institute, International Energy Agency, APX, and General Electric before jumping over to one of the OG wind developers Clipper Windpower. After leading juwi Wind and Harvest Energy Services, Rucker launched Scout Clean Energy and has been off to the races since.

Unraveling the Backbone of Electricity: A Deep Dive into Baseload Power highlights the critical role played by baseload power plants in US electricity markets. Baseload power is the electricity that’s always needed. Think of it as the minimum demand on the electricity grid 24/7/365. This demand needs to be met at all times with energy-generating resources to serve critical care facilities like hospitals. Without these resources, we’d have a tough time sustaining modern life.
