United Business Card

United Business Card Review: Earn 2x miles on United

Business credit cards are some of my favorite cards to apply for, including the card_name. One of the most important reasons to me is that business cards do not count toward my Chase 5/24 count. In addition, business cards help to supplement my balance of points and miles earned on personal credit cards.

In this card_name review, we cover the perks, how to earn and redeem miles, competing cards, and common questions.

United Business Card Details

The card_name earns 100,000 bonus miles after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months your account is open. This bonus offer is available if you currently do not have the card and have not received a new card member bonus for this card in the past 24 months.

In addition, receive a 5,000-mile “better together” bonus each anniversary when you have both the card_name and a personal Chase United credit card.

There is a $0 annual fee for the first year, and then a $99 annual fee every subsequent year. This card has no foreign transaction fees so it can make sense to bring it with you on international trips.

United Card Perks

United travel credit, anniversary bonus miles, anniversary Club passes, auto rental collision damage waiver, baggage delay insurance, trip cancellation/trip interruption insurance, one-year complimentary DashPass, and one free checked bag are the card_name perks.

When you make seven $100 United travel-related purchases with your card, you receive a $100 statement credit for each account anniversary year. These transactions include seat upgrades, Economy Plus, inflight food, inflight drinks, inflight Wi-Fi, baggage service charges, or other United fees.

If you have both the card_name and a United personal card you receive 5,000 bonus miles each account anniversary year. Personal United credit cards include all credit cards without the word “business” in the name that are issued by Chase.

Cardmembers are awarded two United Club passes each cardmember anniversary year. Passes are deposited every 12 months as long as your account remains open.

When you declined the car rental company’s collision insurance and charge the entire rental on your card_name, you receive primary rental insurance coverage when renting for business purposes. Primary covers up to the actual cash value of the vehicle for theft and collision damage for most rental cars.

Baggage delay insurance reimburses you for essentials like toiletries and clothing when your bag for more than six hours. The insurance covers passengers traveling on the same itinerary for up to $100 a day for three days.

Get a one-year complimentary DashPass, a membership for both DoorDash and Caviar that provides unlimited deliveries with $0 delivery fees and lower service fees on eligible orders. After that, you are automatically enrolled in DashPass at the current monthly rate. Activate by 12/31/24.

Lastly, cardmembers receive a free first checked bag – a savings of up to $140 per roundtrip (terms apply), 2 United Club one-time passes per year, and priority boarding privileges.

How to Earn Miles

You earn 2x miles on United Airlines purchases, restaurants including eligible delivery services, gas stations, office supply stores, and on local transit and commuting with the card_name

.

For comparison, the Amex Platinum earns 5x on airfare, Citi Prestige earns 5x at restaurants, Citi Premier earns 3x at gas stations, Chase Ink Business Cash earns 5x at office supply stores, and Chase Sapphire Reserve earns 3x on all travel.

How to Redeem Miles

Top 5 Best Uses of United Miles shows you creative ways to receive value with your United miles. The airline has devalued its program since the publication date of this article. United doesn’t pass on fuel surcharges which makes using United miles ideal to use. This is similar to Avianca LifeMiles.

Another way to redeem United miles is to use the Excursionist Perk. This perk allows you to book a free award flight on a round-trip itinerary.

Which Cards Compete with the United Business Card?

Delta Skymiles Gold Business and CitiBusiness AAdvantage Platinum Select World Mastercard are business credit cards that compete with the card_name.

The Delta Skymiles Gold Business earns 2 miles on Delta and is eligible for US shipping, advertising, and restaurant purchases. You earn 2x miles on American Airlines, telecommunications, cable, satellite, car rental merchants, and gas station purchases with the CitiBusiness AAdvantage Platinum Select World Mastercard.

Conclusion on the United Business Card

The card_name has a reasonable welcome bonus points offer and respectable perks. Its earn rates are not competitive and United’s most recent devaluation makes redeeming United miles less enticing. Both American Airlines and Delta have competing cards to consider applying for your business.
