5 habits that are killing your productivity:

  1. You don’t wake up early (Marcus Aurelius)
  2. You focus on what’s outside your control (Epictetus)
  3. You’re in the wrong crowd (Marcus Aurelius)
  4. You don’t know how to say “no” (Seneca)
  5. You think you’ll live forever (Seneca)

Book I Read

The 38 Letters from J.D. Rockefeller to his son: Perspectives, Ideology, and Wisdom by G. Ng is a compilation of letters from the famous John D. Rockefeller to his son. What’s fascinating about these letters is that the letters were never meant for public consumption. It’s eerily similar to Meditations: A New Translation where Marcus Aurelius never intended for his journal to become public. I loved The 38 Letters from J.D. Rockefeller to his son and highly recommend picking up this book.

Podcasts I Listened To

Invest Like the Best is a new-to-me podcast where host Patrick O’Shaughnessy interviews the top minds in the investing world. Justin Ishbia – Lessons from Acquiring 586 Companies and Jeremy Giffon – Special Situations in Private Markets may be the two best podcasts, regardless of industry, I’ve listened to. I was blown away and plan to listen to both interviews again and take notes.

Blog Post I Wrote

Electricity Market Clearing Prices: The Dance of Supply and Demand offers a view of how pricing works in electricity markets. Pricing is typically set in deregulated markets by the Merit Order Effect. Grid operators are essentially stacking all the resources in their service areas and then dispatching these resources at the least cost.
