The Caribbean is a place we look forward to visiting every year. This part of the world has everything you could want in a destination – delicious food, friendly locals, beautiful resorts, and a place to reset. What’s great about the World of Hyatt program is that some of the best Hyatt hotels can be found in the Caribbean. A short flight plus a short commute from the airport and you are ready to rock.

When deciding on the best Hyatt hotels in the Caribbean, a few things are important to us. One, is the island easy to fly to? Two, how long is the commute between the airport and the hotel? Three, how many points per night will the hotel stay set me back. With those parameters as context, let’s first highlight credit cards to bring with you while you’re at these best Hyatt hotels.

Best Credit Cards to Use at these Best Hyatt Hotels in the Caribbean

One of the features of transferable points is that you’re shielded from airline and hotel program devaluations. By their varied nature, transferable points can be transferred to any number of loyalty programs that offer value. Some of my favorite programs to earn points in are American Express, Chase, and Citi. Cards that are used frequently in our household include the Amex Gold Card, Chase Sapphire Preferred, and Citi Premier Card.

The Amex Gold Card earns 4x points at restaurants and US supermarkets. You earn 3x points on dining and travel with the Chase Sapphire Reserve. Citi Premier cardmembers earn 3x points at restaurants, supermarkets, gas stations, airfare, and hotels.

Four on-property restaurants, a fitness center, a pool, and a spa are what’s in store for you at The Cape, a Thompson Hotel. It’s a category 6 property that requires 25,0000 points for a standard room and 40,000 points for a standard suite. In terms of luxury hotels in Cabo San Lucas, it’ll be hard to beat The Cape. I’m cheating a bit on this one as it’s the property is not in the Caribbean but I couldn’t resist leaving it off the list.
