Some of my favorite travel to date has been to the Caribbean, including my Jamaica travel. Personally, I love beaches, spending time outdoors, and playing golf. So, Jamaica offers all of this and more.

In addition to our Jamaica travel, Ashlee and I have spent time in Turks and Caicos, St Thomas USVI, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and St Croix USVI. We’ve visited the Bahamas multiple times and plan to revisit Turks and Caicos and Puerto Rico.

Best Credit Cards to Use in Jamaica

Generally speaking, American Express, Chase, and Citi are the points that I try to earn. This includes when we visit Jamaica, an international destination. The flexibility of these points is what increases their value for me.

The Amex Gold, Chase Sapphire Reserve, and Citi Premier are cards to consider bringing on your Jamaica travel. You earn 4x points on restaurants and at US grocery stores with the Amex Gold. Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmembers earn 3x points on dining and travel. The Citi Premier earns 3x points at restaurants, supermarkets, gas stations, and on airfare and hotels.

Where to Stay When Visiting Jamaica

When we last visited Jamaica, we stayed at the Couples Tower Isle. Friends of ours were getting married and this hotel hosted the event. While it’s a perfectly nice hotel, the points hotels below get my attention for our next trip.

Hilton Rose Hall Resort & Spa, Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall, Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall, The Trident Hotel, Mr & Mrs Smith Kanopi House, AC Hotel Kingston, and Courtyard Kingston are some of the hotels you can book with points. Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall is likely the hotel we’ll book although The Trident Hotel looks quite nice.

Places to Visit in Jamaica

Most of our time in Jamaica was spent at the beaches at Couples Tower Isle. However, we did venture off property a few of the days. Dunn’s River Falls & Park and Sandals Golf Club are the two places we visited and thoroughly enjoyed.

On our next trip, hiking the blue Blue Mountains, YS Falls, Blue Hole Mineral Spring, and Sam Sharpe Square are places we want to check out. Tryall Golf Club looks incredible, however, it’s a private course.

Conclusion on Jamaica Travel

Jamaica travel, like most Caribbean travel, is the type of travel we enjoy. Traveling to jamaica from us is relatively easy due to the number of nonstop flights from around the US to this Caribbean island. What also makes Jamaica travel easier is the fact that there are several hotels yo0u can book with points. Once you’re on the island, there are plenty of places to see, something that can be hard to find on other islands in the Caribbean.
