Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus Credit Card Details
card_name earns 50,000 bonus points after spending $1,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. It’s important to note that new cardmembers are not eligible for these bonus points if you’re:
- a current cardmember of any Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card, or
- a previous card member of any Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card who received a new card member bonus within the last 24 months. This restriction does not apply to Southwest Rapid Rewards Business Cards.
Cardmembers are charged $69 for the annual fee. You can offset the annual fee by utilizing the perks listed below.
Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus Credit Card Perks
Southwest EarlyBird Check-In and In-Flight Statement Credits are the perks that come with the card_name.
Each cardmember anniversary year you receive two EarlyBird Check-In credits made with yourcard_name. EarlyBird Check-In provides automatic check-in before the traditional 24-hour check-in and can be purchased as part of the original flight purchase or added to a flight after purchase. The price of EarlyBird Check-In may vary.
25% back on inflight purchases comes with the card_name. Eligible flight purchases include drinks and WiFi.
How to Earn Points with the Southwest Plus Credit Card
Cardmembers earn points under the following structure:
- 2x points on Southwest Airlines (including flight, inflight, Southwest gift card, Southwest Vacations package purchases
- 2X points on local transit and commuting, including rideshare
- Earn 2X points on internet, cable, and phone services; select streaming.
- 3,000 bonus points each account anniversary year

How to Redeem Points with the Southwest Plus Credit Card
Southwest points are generally fixed at around 1.5 cents per point. In other words, a $100 flight costs 15,000 Southwest points. With that said, it’s unlikely you’ll receive outsized value with your Southwest points. The outsized value is redemptions north of 3 cents per point. However, that doesn’t mean Southwest points aren’t valuable. Southwest members with the Companion Pass can book a second award/cash flight for free when you book a flight. This perk is one of the best perks in the points and miles game.
