November Travel: Where I Travelled Last Month

It was great to get back to the Caribbean in November.

November was an interesting month in that I was on the road more than I thought I’d be when I planned out my November travel.

I was back home with my parents for a couple of trips with a trip to the Caribbean sandwiched in between.

In this post, I’ll outline what my November travel looked like and what I did at each spot.

November Travel List

Baton Rouge

November Travel 1

I go to Baton Rouge once during football season for the biggest game. LSU is where I went to undergrad so naturally I’m a huge fan of football.

The Alabama game was the biggest home game this year and a one that I really wanted to see. Outside of the outcome, it was a fun trip.

LSU plays in Tiger Stadium and if you’ve never been, I’d recommend getting tickets to a big night game. You will not be disappointed.

Southwest was my airline of choice for this trip where I flew round-trip from Washington (DCA) to New Orleans (MSY). Another redemption to consider is using British Airways points at only 7,500 points each way.

In short, the game was a ton of fun and one I recommend any sports fan check out.

Puerto Rico

Hard to beat the Caribbean in November.

The Caribbean is an incredible place and so I decided that Puerto Rico would be a great spot to head to for my bachelor party.

Puerto Rico feels like a larger version of Turks and Caicos and St. Croix, with a respectable food scene and nightlife, especially in the La Placita and Old San Juan areas.

The island also has a couple of nice golf courses in Dorado and Coco Beach, with Dorado being the course we played.

Of all of the places I’ve been to in the Caribbean, the San Juan airport (SJU) is served by the most non-stop flights from the US making it an easy island to fly to.

Southwest was my airline of choice again for this trip. I flew nonstop from Baltimore (BWI) but you also have nonstop options from a number of US airports.

American Airlines flies nonstop from Charlotte, Chicago–O’Hare, Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami, and Philadelphia.

If Delta makes more sense, you’ve got nonstop flights from Atlanta and New York–JFK.

Budget airline JetBlue has nonstop flights from Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Hartford, New York–JFK, Newark, Orlando, Tampa, and Washington–National.

United Airlines is yet another option with nonstop flights from Chicago–O’Hare, Houston–Intercontinental, Newark, and Washington–Dulles.

To sum up, Puerto Rico has certainly recovered from the hurricane and is worth seeing. The city has a vibrant food and nightlife scene that we really enjoyed.

Baton Rouge

Enjoying the delicious beer at Tin Roof Brewery.

We celebrate Thanksgiving in Baton Rouge every year so I typically fly there early in the week before the holiday.

It’s always great to be home to spend time with close family over an extended weekend.

For this redemption, I flew Southwest again as it’s my go-to program along with British Airways when flying between Washington (DCA) and New Orleans (MSY).

In conclusion, it was great to relax with my family over Thanksgiving where the weather was perfect.

Conclusion
