Hyatt Place Sandestin at Grand Boulevard is located in the Grand Boulevard Town Center in Miramar Beach, Florida. Just minutes from the beach, it’s one of the few Sandestin hotels you can book with points.

The hotel has 84 rooms, including 7 suites. There’s also a heated outdoor pool, fitness center, free breakfast, a bar. One of our favorite coffee shops Black Bear Bread Co. is located right outside of the lobby.

The Hyatt loyalty program is called World of Hyatt. Members can earn three elite tiers in Discoverist, Explorist, and Globalist. Each elite tier is determined by the number of qualifying nights stayed or base points earned in a calendar year. Therefore, the more elite nights and/or base points that you earn, the more elite benefits you receive.

Discoverist benefits include a 10% points bonus on stays, waived resort fees on award nights, bottled water, preferred room upgrade at check-in, and 2 PM late check out. 20% points bonus on stays, upgraded room upgrades at check-in, two club lounge passes, and 1 category 1-4 free night award plus all of the benefits of Disoverist come with Explorist. Globalist members receive 30% points bonus on stays, waived resort fees on award and cash nights, standard suite room upgrades, 4 PM late check out, club access, free parking on award nights, guest of honor, 1 category 1-7 free award night, 2 suite upgrade awards and access to My Hyatt Concierge. Hyatt Place Sandestin is a category 3 Hyatt property. This means you can book the hotel with 12,000 points per night for a standard room. Off-peak and peak points pricing starts in 2021 so the number of points required may change.

The World of Hyatt credit card comes with 1 category 1-4 free award night. In addition, you can earn a second category 1-4 free award night with $15,000 in spending during your cardmember year. During peak Destin travel dates, consider using your category 1-4 free award night if the cash rates are high.

Hyatt Place Sandestin is three miles from Miramar Beach. We spent time at this public beach in Santa Rosa, which is a 25-minute drive from the hotel. Similar to Hyatt Place Sandestin, Residence Inn Sandestin, and Courtyard Sandestin are points hotels in the area but not on the beach. For a points hotel on the beach, Hilton Sandestin is a property to consider booking.

Conclusion on Hyatt Place Sandestin

This is the second time Ashlee has stayed and the first time I stayed at Hyatt Place Sandestin. Some of the upsides of this hotel are the ability to leverage your Hyatt elite status and use points to book an award stay. The one drawback is the fact the hotel is not on the beach. Overall, Hyatt Place Sandestin is a hotel that can overall solid value with your Hyatt points.
