World Of Hyatt Business Credit Card Review

World of Hyatt Business Credit Card

For whatever reason, Hyatt has sat on the sidelines when it comes to offering a business Hyatt credit card. Compared to its peers over at Hilton and Marriott, Hyatt did not have a competing business credit card. That all changes when the card_name was launched.

Travelers, including myself, love to see new credit cards launched, including business credit cards. Hyatt’s move into the business credit space is a welcome sight. Not only can business owners apply for this card but you can also have the personal World of Hyatt Credit Card at the same time. This one-two credit card punch is one we can all appreciate!

Hyatt Business Credit Card Details

New card members earn 60,000 Bonus Points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in your first 3 months from account opening. Earn an additional 15,000 Bonus Points after you spend $12,000 within the first 6 months of account opening.

This bonus offer is available to new cardmembers who currently do not have the card and have not received a new cardmember bonus for this card in the past 24 months. Bonus points post to your account 6-8 weeks after meeting the minimum spending requirement and paying your credit card bill. The card has a $199 annual fee.

The card_name is subject to the Chase 5/24 rule. However, the card does not add to your Chase 5/24 credit card total because it’s a business credit card. So, if you have opened less than five new personal (some business accounts count) in the past 24 months, you should be eligible for the bonus points.

Hyatt Credit Card Benefits

A $100 Hyatt credit, in the form of two $50 statement credits comes with the card. Cardmembers receive a statement credit when making qualifying Hyatt purchases that are at least $50. The $100 Hyatt credit renews each card member’s anniversary. Hyatt purchases are ones made at qualifying Hyatt hotels and resorts. Statement credits post to the cardmember’s accounts the same day of your purchase.

You can likely value this credit at face value as there are virtually no restrictions. So, this $100 Hyatt credit effectively reduces the $199 annual fee to $99 per year. Other card benefits also help to reduce the annual fee even further.

There’s currently a Limited Time Offer if you apply by 10/6/22, you receive 2 Tier-Qualifying Night Credits for each night you stay from 8/23/22 through 12/31/22.

Hyatt Business Credit Card Benefits

When you spend $50,000 in a calendar year, you receive a 10% bonus point redemption bonus. The number of bonus points you can earn is capped at 200,000 World of Hyatt points. Bonus points should post to your World of Hyatt account 6-8 weeks after you’ve met this spending requirement.

Discoverist Status is a perk that comes with the card_name. The cardmember can gift Discoverist Status to up to five employees. This status is available for employees the calendar year in which you gift the status plus an additional 14 months. Disconversit STatus offers waived resort on Free Night Awards, 2:00 PM late checkout, and preferred room upgrades.

With every $10,000 that you spend each calendar year on the card_name, you earn 5 elite night credits. Hyatt does not cap the number of elite night credits you can earn. Elite night credits are a credit to your account in the calendar year of your qualifying spending. Elite night credits post to your account eight weeks after the end of the month of your spending.

Hyatt Leverage Membership comes complimentary with the this card. This membership offers up to 15% off standard room rates. Cardmembers receive a Corporate Discount Code to discount their hotel stays.

How to Earn Points with the Hyatt Business Credit Card

Earn 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent in your top three spend categories each quarter through 12/31/24, then your top two categories each quarter. Rewards categories include:

  • Dining
  • Shipping
  • Airline tickets when purchased directly with the airline
  • Local transit & commuting
  • Social media & search engine Advertising
  • Car rental agencies
  • Gas stations
  • Internet, cable & phone services

How to Redeem Points with the Hyatt Business Credit Card

One of the reasons the World of Hyatt program is considered the best hotel loyalty program is because of Hyatt’s redemption rates. Generally speaking, Hyatt requires the least number of points to book luxury hotel stays compared to Hilton, IHG, and Marriott.

Hyatt will soon devalue its award chart by requiring more points for hotel stays. However, you can book hotel stays for as few as 5,000 points per night. For suites, Hyatt requires up to 80,000 points per night. When you consider the types of Hyatt hotels that you can book, like Park Hyatts, you generally can receive excellent value when redeeming Hyatt points.

Conclusion on the Hyatt Business Credit Card

The current bonus points after meeting the minimum spending requirement are great. In addition, a $100 Hyatt credit effectively cuts the annual fee in half. When you also take into account the ability to earn elite night credits with your business spending, you can reduce the annual fee even more. However, it would be nice to see a complimentary annual free night on the card similar to what’s offered on the World of Hyatt Credit Card.
