Miscellaneous and Psychology are the 2 categories for my December best books to read while traveling list. Both books were ones I’ve been wanting to read for quite a while. Unfortunately, only 1 of the books lived up to the hype. With that said, let’s look at which credit cards to use to buy books.
Best Credit Cards to Use to Buy Books on Amazon:
When buying books, you typically will not be triggering a bonus category. Typical bonus categories include airfare, grocery stores, restaurants, and travel. When purchasing either of these best books to read while traveling, you’ll want to earn at least 2% cashback or 2X points per transaction.
The Chase Freedom Unlimited earn 3% cashback per transaction in your first cardmember year. Cardmembers earn 1.5% cashback per transaction in every year thereafter. This card is great to use for transactions that do not include a bonus category.
Pair the Chase Freedom Unlimited with the Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Preferred, or Chase Ink Business Preferred to convert your cashback into Chase points. These are the points that will allow you to book an award flight or hotel stay.
Apply for the Citi Double Cash to earn 2% cashback per transaction. 1% when you make a purchase. 1% when you pay your bill. This is the best personal credit card to use over the long term. The reason is that it has the highest earn rate for your non-bonus category spend.
Pair the Citi Double Cash with the Citi Premier or Citi Prestige to convert cash back into Citi points. You’ll want to convert cash back into points to book an award flight or hotel stay.
The American Express Blue Business Plus is the best business credit card to use to buy books. This card 2X points per transaction. Unlike the Chase Freedom Unlimited and Citi Double Cash, the Amex Blue Business Plus earns points directly with your spending.

Can’t Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds
David Goggins shares it all in Can’t Hurt Me. From mental and physical abuse to racism, Goggins endured it all. He used this adversity to complete Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force Tactical Air Controller training. After his military days, he set a number of endurance athlete records. The 40% Rule is what Goggins uses to state that we only push ourselves to 40% of our capability.
This book is incredible! I absolutely loved the motivation Goggins brings. He’s also a great follow on Instagram. Goggins was first introduced to the world in Living with a SEAL: 31 Days Training with the Toughest Man on the Planet. This is another book you should read. Another complementary book is Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life…And Maybe the World.

The authors explain how to strategically read to obtain the most information from the book’s message.
For me, this is book was hard to read. The concepts are straightforward but I found myself skipping huge sections of this book. There are some takeaways that will help you to read better. However, I would try to find another book on this topic.
