It feels like every week, one of the major transferable point programs is out with a new announcement. This time it’s Capital One Travel announcing a new lounge to its portfolio. In addition, Capital One is offering a transfer bonus to two of its airline partners. The only thing to slow down positive news like this is travel shutting back down so let’s keep our fingers crossed.
Not only does Capital One have plans for a new lounge, but the bank previously announced lounge openings this fall at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport (DFW) airport mid-2022 at Dulles International Airport (IAD). Both of these airports offer several international flights so this is great news for those looking to relax before a long flight.

Best Capital One Travel Card
While the Capital One Venture Card 100,000 mile sign-up bonus ended July 19, 2021, the card is still one of the best Capital One cards on the market. Cardmembers currently earn 60,000 bonus miles after meeting the minimum spending requirement. In addition, you earn unlimited 2x miles on every purchase. Separately, the Capital One Venture Card has a $95 annual fee.
Examples of how best to redeem Capital One miles with airline partners include:
- 60,000-70,000 miles transferred to Air Canada Aeroplan to book SWISS/Austrian business class US to Europe
- 63,000 miles transferrred to Avianca LifeMiles to book book SWISS/Austrian business class US to Europe

New Capital One Lounge at Denver Airport
As Capital One Travel expands its lounge presence, Denver International Airport is set to receive a new lounge in 2022. This lounge joins new lounges at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport (fall 2021) and Dulles International Airport (mid-2022). The Denver Airport lounge will be your refuge when preparing for your next flight.
Concerning the Denver lounge amenities, here’s what we know:
- Lounge will be 11,200 square feet and located in Concourse A on the mezzanine level
- In-lounge food and beverage includes health-conscious eating options, a handcrafted beverage menu and dedicated grab & go options
- Locally sourced ingredients will be at the forefront of the food and beverage menu with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free food options as well as partnerships with local Denver-area cocktail bars, breweries and coffee roasters
- Relaxation rooms with eye covers, blankets and other luxury amenities
- Shower suites with complimentary towels and hotel-inspired custom toiletries
- Working spaces, including private meeting rooms, with individual power outlets at every seat, and complimentary high-speed WiFi
- Kid-sized tables and chairs for families
- A private nursing room for parents
- Secure lockers for carry-on luggage and personal items
- Capital One credit cardholders will be eligible for special entry rates depending on their card

For this Capital One Travel announcement, Aeromexico Club Premier and British Airways Executive Club are both receiving transfer bonuses. In the case of Aeromexico Club Premier, Capital One miles transfer instantly at a 1:1.2 ratio. This means that 1,000 Venture Miles = 1,200 Aeromexico miles. For British Airways, the transfer ratio is 1:1. So, 1,000 Venture Miles = 1,000 British Airways Avios.
Aeromexico bonus transfers are available between July 12th at 12:00 AM ET to August 8th at 11:59 PM ET. British Airways transfers are available between August 1st at 12:00 AM ET to August 31st at 11:59 PM ET. After this promo, the Aeromexico transfer will return to 1:1 and the British Airways transfer will return to 2:1.5.
