How to Book Singapore Airlines Flights with Ultimate Rewards

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, loyalty program of Singapore Airlines, is a program that allows you to book Singapore Airlines and partner airline flights.

The Singapore Airlines award chart has many redemptions to consider. For U.S. travelers, the redemptions to check out are as follows. One, U.S. domestic premium class. Two, North America to Hawaii.  Three, North America to South America.  Four, North America to Europe.

If you have an upcoming trip in mind and plan to use KrisFlyer miles (Chase Ultimate Rewards points can be transferred directly to Singapore Airlines), here’s what I would take into account as you evaluate your award booking:

  • Fuel surcharges will vary between Singapore/SilkAir (no surcharge), Star Alliance and codeshare partners
  • Star Alliance and Partner flights can be booked one-way
  • Singapore flights can be booked one-way
  • No stopovers on one-way award flights
  • Star Alliance – no stopover on one-way awards; complimentary stopover on; round-trips awards; up to (3) additional stopovers for $100 each
  • An open-jaw is allowed for round-trip Star Alliance award flights
  • An open jaw and/or stopover is not allowed on Alaska Airlines flights
  • Singapore partners with all 5 major transferable point’s programs in Amex, Capital One, Chase, Citi, and Marriott
  • Singapore uses a separate chart for Singapore/Silk, Star Alliance, and Alaska Airlines

You can book Singapore Airlines flights and Star Alliance flights by transferring your Chase Ultimate Rewards directly to your Singapore Airlines account.

Business class to South America for only 100,000 KrisFlyer miles (100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points converted to 100,000 Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles) is a redemption I plan to use for my first trip to South America.  10+ hours each way in business class, yes please!
