World of Hyatt, loyalty program of Hyatt Hotels, is a program that allows members to book Hyatt hotels among other redemptions.

The award program is considered to be one of the best, if not the best, hotel loyalty programs for elite members.  Above all, Hyatt requires fewer points for premium hotels and elite members receive more benefits relative to other brands.

Earning Points

World of Hyatt members can earn points from paid stays, purchasing points, signing up for the World of Hyatt credit card, car rentals, and planning Meetings & Events.

You can also earn Chase Ultimate Rewards points and then transfer those points directly to Hyatt. The credit cards that earn Ultimate Rewards points are the Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Preferred, and Chase Ink Business Preferred.

Another option would be to earn Chase cash back and then convert the cash back into Ultimate Rewards points by holding an Ultimate Rewards credit card. Chase cash back earning cards to consider are the Chase Freedom, Chase Freedom Unlimited, Chase Ink Business Cash, and Chase Ink Business Unlimited.

Hotel Stays

Members earn 5 base points per $1 spent on Hyatt stays, dining and spa services.  Stays at MGM Resorts International, a Hyatt partner, earn 1 base point per $1 spent.

The MGM M Life Rewards program provides reciprocal elite status for members.  In addition, Hyatt members can opt to earn airline miles in lieu of hotel points for hotel stays.

Hyatt Credit Card

The World of Hyatt credit card is a Chase card with many benefits, however, the card will add to your Chase 5/24 total. With that said, here are the benefits of the Hyatt card:

  • 50,000 point sign up bonus after spending $6,000 in the first 6 months
  • 1 free night every cardmember anniversary at a category 1-4 hotel
  • 1 free night every cardmember anniversary at a category 1-4 hotel if you spend $15,000
  • 5 qualifying night credits every year
  • 2 qualifying night credits for every $5,000 spent on your card
  • 9 points per $1 spent at Hyatt
  • $95 annual fee

Meetings & Events

Members can earn additional points and elite status by hosting a qualifying meeting or event.  This benefit is similar to Marriott’s benefit for event planners.  Hyatt Meeting & Events’ points are earned in increments of 1 bonus point per $1 spent (max of 50,000 points) for each meeting or event.

Redeeming Points

Members have the opportunity to redeem points for Free Nights & Upgrades, Dining & Spa, and Share & Gifts.
