With 60,000 United miles, you can book a round trip Star Alliance or United economy flight to Europe. Another interesting, but expensive, option is to use 140,000 United miles to book Lufthansa round trip business class to Europe with no fuel surcharges.

Search for award flights on United, book the flight online, and then pay the taxes and fees. It’s important to note that it can make a ton of sense to use United miles to reduce your taxes and fees. In the case with Lufthansa, we’re talking hundreds of dollars in taxes fees.

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
